Psalm 106

「Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord, or declare all his praise? Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times! Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. Then they believed his words; they sang his praise. he gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them. the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea. Then they yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor, and ate sacrifices offered to the dead; they provoked the Lord to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them. They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses on their account, for they made his spirit bitter, and he spoke rashly with his lips. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds. Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity. Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the Lord!」

Psalm 107

「Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield. By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord.」

Psalm 108

「My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer me! Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter. Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies.」

Psalm 109

「Be not silent, O God of my praise! For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me, speaking against me with lying tongues. So they reward me evil for good, and hatred for my love. Appoint a wicked man against him; let an accuser stand at his right hand. May his children wander about and beg, seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit! May the creditor seize all that he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his toil! May his posterity be cut off; may his name be blotted out in the second generation! May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out! Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth! For he did not remember to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and the brokenhearted, to put them to death. He clothed himself with cursing as his coat; may it soak into his body like water, like oil into his bones! But you, O God my Lord, deal on my behalf for your name’s sake; because your steadfast love is good, deliver me! My knees are weak through fasting; my body has become gaunt, with no fat. Help me, O Lord my God! Save me according to your steadfast love! For he stands at the right hand of the needy one, to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.」

Psalm 110

「The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head.」

Psalm 111

「Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations. they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!」

Psalm 112

「Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.」

Psalm 113

「Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised! He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!」

Psalm 114

「When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water.」

Psalm 115

「Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; and they do not make a sound in their throat. O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord! He is their help and their shield. May the Lord give you increase, you and your children! The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down into silence.」

Psalm 116

「I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful. The Lord preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me. I believed, even when I spoke: “I am greatly afflicted”; I said in my alarm, “All mankind are liars.” Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds. in the courts of the house of the Lord, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord!」

Psalm 117

「Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!」

Psalm 118

「Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.” Let the house of Aaron say, “His steadfast love endures forever.” The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. They surrounded me like bees; they went out like a fire among thorns; in the name of the Lord I cut them off! Glad songs of salvation are in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly, I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. The Lord is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us. Bind the festal sacrifice with cords, up to the horns of the altar!」

Psalm 119

「Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me! With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word. You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments. Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors. When I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes! Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law! Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord, your salvation according to your promise; I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame, This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. I remember your name in the night, O Lord, and keep your law. When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies; I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts. The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. Let those who fear you turn to me, that they may know your testimonies. How long must your servant endure? When will you judge those who persecute me? In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies. Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your rules. I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law. Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart. You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God. All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross, therefore I love your testimonies. My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments. Give your servant a pledge of good; let not the insolent oppress me. Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes. Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes. You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness. My zeal consumes me, because my foes forget your words. Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight. I call to you; save me, that I may observe your testimonies. They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose; they are far from your law. Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise! Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes. I look at the faithless with disgust, because they do not keep your commands. Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble. I hope for your salvation, O Lord, and I do your commandments. Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word! Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word. Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me. I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.」

Psalm 120

「In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace.」
